New Location for Council Work Sessions starting March 1, 2010.
Effective March 1, 2010, the City Council Work Sessions scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month will be held on 2nd floor of the Police Facility, 220 N. 27th Street. The work sessions will be televised live by Community 7.

High Plains Book Award Deadline is March 12
The time for nominations for this year's High Plains Book Awards is getting short. Nominations for Best Fiction, Best Nonfiction, Best First Book, Best Poetry and Zonta Best Woman Writer - and this year's Special award for Best Mystery - are due on Friday, March 12.

The High Plains Books Awards have been established to recognize regional authors and/or literary works which examine and reflect life on the High Plains including the states of Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas, and the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. Public Meeting for Transportation Plan update
The meeting will be held at 7 pm at the Billings Community Center, 360 North 23rd Street. The Billings Urban Area
Transportation Plan addresses transportation planning across the City of Billings and portions of Yellowstone County outside the City Limits. The Plan addresses transportation project priorities, motorized and non-motorized transportation planning goals, and provides current and future estimates of traffic impacts to the community’s transportation system.

Type of Incident: Robbery

Case Number: 10-02002

On this date and time BPD officers responded to the 3 G’s in reference to an attempted robbery. Upon their arrival officers were told by the employee that a white male, in his 20’s, thin build approximately 5’ 7”, thin build and wearing a gray hoodie attempted to rob them. The suspect had entered the store and purchased an item. The suspect then brandished a hand gun and demanded the contents of the cash drawer. The clerk told the suspect he could not comply due to the fact the cash drawer was shut. The suspect left the store with out receiving the cash drawer’s contents.
