Where is the grave site of my loved one?
On the Cemetery's home page, find and click on the link to Gravesite Locator. It will take you to a site that you can type in a last name and the name of the cemetery (Mountview). Click on "View Record" and then click on "Map" and it will show you a printable map of your loved ones grave site location.

Why were my Memorial Day flowers removed?
Flowers and decorations which are not in a standard flower container are not allowed in Mountview Cemetery. The Cemetery makes except to that rule during Memorial Day and Christmas. All Memorial Day flowers not in a standard flower container are removed a week and a day after Memorial Day. If you need a new standard flower container, they are available for purchase in the Cemetery Office for $30.

When can I have ground level flowers on my loved ones' graves?
Ground level flowers in standard flower containers are allowed in the Cemetery from May 15th until October 15th.

When is the Cemetery Office opened on Memorial Day Weekend?
The Cemetery Office, Information Tents and the Mausoleum will be opened to assist grave locations from 10 AM until 2 PM, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Memorial Day.

When do I have to pick up my Memorial Day flowers?
Please pick up your flowers before June 8th. We will pick up any Memorial Day flowers not in standard flower containers a week and a day after Memorial Day.

What can you tell me about Christmas decorations?
We would appreciate it if Christmas decorations are not put out until the middle of December, but most of the flower regulations are waived during the Christmas season. Decorations will be removed by the City on January 19th. If you want to save yours, you need to remove them on or before the 18th of January.
7.
Why can't I have flowers on my loved one's grave after October 15th?
Gound level artifical flowers can be covered by snow and not seen by snow removal personel. This may result in damaged equipment or cause injury from airborn artifical flowers.

Is the Gravesite Locator the same as Plot Finder?
Yes & No. The old PlotFinder will no longer work, but the Locator which is hosted by Yellowstone County, will provide all the features that Plot Finder had, plus more info. The map portion does not show where the individual grave is, but that feature is in the works.
9.
Why were my holiday flowers removed?
Ground level flowers not in a standard flower container during the summer months, May 15th to Oct. 15 are not allowed except for a week and a day following the holiday. During the winter months Oct. 15th to May 15th, ground level flowers are not allowed except 3 days before a holiday and 3 days after a holiday.
10.
When can I put out my Memorial Day flowers?
Ground level flowers placed in a standard flower container can be set out any time after May 15th. Flowers just set on the ground can not be put out before the Thursday before Memorial Day.
11.
Why can't I open Plot Finder?
Plot Finder was built using 2003 technology. Unfortunately the City's new web server will not support the old program. A solution to the problem is being worked on and it will be up soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.
